Can't Let Go 2
This morning I got a color palette for my site and I’m starting to make some small changes that’ll pull this all together. More on that later.
Can't Let Go
I can’t let go. I like this theme too much. The blue is killer. I fixed the sidebar so there aren’t as many clashing colors. I’ll change all of this sometime this week. Damnit 80’s blue!

VH1
Has anyone ever noticed that people who didn’t fit in in high school would definitely fit in somewhere on VH1?
Goodbye 1980
I’ve had a lot of trouble with this design. It was the first one I’ve done and through the process of designing and coding I’ve learned a lot. That’s exactly what I set out to do when I made the Wonderland design. Right now the design is loud and clashes in parts. I’ve been tweaking it for weeks trying to get it just right but with the colors I’m using it just...
I’m gonna try some light graffiti tonight, I’ll post pictures later.

Beach Hurdles
Last summer I was running down the beach when I saw a kid who was around six or seven down on one knee, playing in the sand. I wanted so badly to hurdle the kid and keep running. I didn’t do it because I was scared that he would stand up and I’d kick him in the head mid-hurdle. That, and his dad would chase me down and kill me.

To Do
1. Touch up the SUI design to make it look less flat 2. Buy a Canon S550 camera so I have something other than my SLR when I want to take pictures
Give Your Kids Some Credit
Working at a pool affords me the opportunity to watch a lot parents interact with their kids. The one thing I’ve noticed is the way parents talk to their kids: they talk to them like they’re idiots, like they’re household pets. Parents, give your kids some credit. Your 8-year-old is a lot smarter than you think he is. You don’t have to go “Awww such a good boy! Good...
Fed Double Ex
On the way to work I saw a “FedEx Express” truck. Isn’t that a little redundant, FedEx? Federal Express Express?
give and take.
hrrrthrrr: As I said a few days ago Lauren Farmer has a killer site. I don’t know what it is that I like so much about it but it’s the perfect combination of everything. If you don’t follow her, add her to your dashboard. You won’t regret it. Tristan Jay also has a great blog. He’s a linguistics major so it’s full of observation and wordplay humor....
Filmmaking
I got a video camera years ago as a present, during the time when Jackass was huge on MTV and my teenage self thought it would be cool to film myself and my friends doing “extreme” things. These things included jumping out of trashcans at moving cars and riding in a card board box, that was duct taped to a skateboard, down a hill and off of a ramp. I realize now that these were dumb...
Wall-E
Just got back from Wall-E. Great flick. Funny and entertaining every single second. Grab a friend and go see it as soon as you can. Oh, and I got a free Wall-E wrist watch for buying tickets online for opening night (I think).
McCain Predicts He'll Overtake Obama 48 Hours... →
Oh John McCain. You would think that in your old age you would be wise enough to know that the young black man promising hope to a Republican-sick country is going to win the election. I’m sure you think this comeback is possible, Senator McCain, because you’re a stubborn old white man who refuses to conform to a new style of politics. You’re still playing the same game that was...
Art Class
I just walked downstairs and looked out the windows to find about dozen people walking around my house and drawing it. Weirdest morning I’ve had in a while.

Bringing Back 60's Soul
Driving to work the other day the local DJ was talking about how 60’s soul is coming back. I downloaded three albums, one that was mentioned the show: - This Is Ryan Shaw - Ryan Shaw - Roll Away - Back Door Slam - Roll With You - Eli “Paperboy” Reed & The True Loves I hope they’re good!
Cellular Victories
I’ve finally got Tumblr working on my phone. The Curve sucks though, I can’t wait to get my iPhone.
Firefox Saves The Day
In the middle of my last post, my iMac decided to turn off on me. Firefox saved every single letter that I had typed which appeared as soon I restarted the computer. Thanks Firefox!
Kuler.Adobe.Com →
I’ve always had trouble with colors matching on things that I design. Well not anymore. Adobe’s super-helpful color coordinator called Kuler aims to make sure you never have an unsightly color in your design again! The site requires the newest version of Flash.
Roommate Non-Update
I thought about writing my unknown roommate a letter but that seems so inconvenient. I have terrible handwriting and don’t really want to go buy envelopes and stamps for one stupid letter. If he’s Amish I’m screwed. I enjoy electricity too much to have an Amish roommate. (Sorry if you’re Amish and reading this. Oh wait…)
Thanks.
lfarm: Too often I forget how lucky I am to have the parents that I do. I grew up assuming everyone was being supported and nurtured the way I was, but the older I get, the more I realize sadly that wasn’t the case. I definitely wouldn’t be who I am without them consistently backing me up. I don’t take it for granted.
Playing Favorites
I’ve been browsing through a few tumblogs lately and hands down, Lauren Farmer’s That’s What She Said is my favorite. It’s simple, with great pictures, writing…great everything, really.
Does Baltimore City Still Roar? Part 2
The lights go down and Less Than Jake comes out. The crowd roars. They open with a new song “Does The Lion City Still Roar?” followed by a mix of older and newer material. They play the staples: “Look What Happened”, “The Science of Selling Yourself Short”, and surprisingly their most requested song online and off, “The Rest of My Life.” Somewhere...
